A woman went to a famous hat maker and wanted a red hat of a specific shade for the royal ball that evening.
"No problem", he said.
Then he pulled out several meters of red ribbon, and twisted and turned it into a hat.
"Oh, it's lovely!" the woman exclaimed, "How much do I owe you?"
"100 pounds," he replied.
"For a piece of ribbon?" asked the incredulous woman.
Upon which he untwisted the ribbon and handed it to her, saying, "Madam, the ribbon is free.
