Adding Friends
Before participating in a Pulse chat add, as Friends in Messenger, the other chatters. A Pulse member will email to you a list of Friends (Yahoo!IDs) previous to your first chat session.
Joining a Chat Session
1. Connect to the internet if you are not already connected. 2. Start Messenger if it is not already running.
3. Make sure you are in Available mode, so other participants can invite you to the chat.
4. When someone invites you to a chat, a Conference invitation window appears on your screen.
5. Accept the Conference invitation
6. The Conference window opens with a list of all the chatters, a pane showing the chatting and a box for you to type your chatting.
Other Suggestions
After you are in the chat. Open a text editor. (i.e.: Notepad (Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad)) and arrange the text editor window so that it is next to the chat window. We often use a text editor to type impressions during the exercises. When the exercise is finished, we take turns "dumping" our impressions into the chat. Do this by selecting the text in the text editor and copying (Control C) and then move the cursor to the chat window text line and paste (Control V).
